The Chateau de Saint-Martin was bild in 1740. This year, the domain, old priory belonging to the monks of the island of Lerins, was bought by the Marquis de Villeneuve Bargemon. He built the castle to offer it as a wedding present to his daughter Marie Anne with the Count de Juigné.
The label (appellation) “Côtes de Provence” covers 18000 hectares and is decided into three zones: the costal zone, the Permian depression, and the Triasssic plateau.
The Chateau de Saint martin vineyard is spread at an altitude of 130 meters above sea level and situated at the jonction of two geological zones witch specifically gives its wine a character with a jealously preserved identity and authenticity.
Each year, vines are replanted on one hectare of land, thus controlling the vines age over the years. The oldest produce a more complex and delicate wine, while the younger give a fruity and lively taste.

Château de Berne is situated in the Haut Var area (northern part of the Var), characterized by a continental climate. This area’s cool evenings ensure slow and optimal grape ripening. Our Rosé wines mature late and are well-structured with plenty of body.
Measuring 290 acres, Château de Berne’s vine plots are set on a chalky terroir. They are mainly South-facing and sheltered by 1,500 acres of forests. This varied soil and climate offers optimal growing conditions for a wide variety of grapes, 10 of which are regularly used to make the Château wines: Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Sémillon, Ugni-Blanc, Viognier, Cabernet, Carignan, Rolle and Mourvèdre.
